Nursing practice is the care of individuals, families, groups, and communities, sick or well, in all settingsIt involves a combination of art and science, and is based on the best available research and evidence. Nursing practice is guided by standards and definitions established by nursing associations and governmental agencies.

Health care, or healthcare, is the improvement of health via the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, amelioration or cure of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in people. Health care is delivered by health professionals and allied health fields.
